The "Light/Loose Project" of Song Art Museum was unveiled as scheduled, and the group exhibition "Soft Tentacles" composed of five female artists, Li Jiaxing, Li Qijing, Xu Ruoxin, Xiao Tingting and Yang Fang, was officially opened to the public on August 7, 2022.

This exhibition is curated by Guan Yinlin, a cutting-edge photographer and postdoctoral fellow in philosophy in Tsinghua University. Guided by Heidegger's art, the relationship between artists and works of art, he tried to arouse an aesthetic discussion between artists and audiences. Taking Hegel's "I am us and we are me" as a clue, the works of five artists are connected in series, presenting their multi-dimensional artistic expression of this view.

Artist Yang Fang exhibited a total of 130 works in this exhibition, which are three series, namely "I am square", "Chick" and "I am petrified". The artist used two different media to express his emotions intuitively. Although the two series of "I'm square" and "Chiu Xiao Niu" are very similar in content and form, they are different in the content of the paintings.  In the series "I am square", the artist focuses on the commonality of emotions. She believes that emotions will not change because of changes in gender, race, culture and other backgrounds, while the series "Chick Chicks" emphasizes that everyone should face up to themselves. We are all imperfect and unique individuals. When facing emotions, be brave in expressing them. Emotion is immaterial, universal and universal; Tears are material, and they express people's emotions. However, tears can not only express a single emotion, but also be happy, sad and angry. Both of them are common to us.

Guan Yinlin, the curator, thinks that in order to avoid falling into the besieged city of talking to themselves, artists constantly seek inward and outward, use their works as their tentacles to contact the audience and try to express their perception and interpretation of "self" and "world". The audience also needs a pair of tentacles to break through the obstacles, to feel the artist's "self" through different media, to get out of the "self" through the tentacles, to move towards the "non-self" and turn the "non-self" into a part of the "self". This process is just like Hegel said: "I am us, and we are me."
